Maria Shao
Maria Shao (邵琬甯) was born in Taiwan and moved to California when she was twelve years old. Maria has been singing throughout her life, participating in various choirs since a young age. She received a B.S. in civil engineering and M.A. in liturgical music from Santa Clara University. While in college, she sang with the university Chamber Singers and participated in opera productions. After working in engineering for two years, Maria decided to pursue her passion in music. She has been serving as a cantor for Sacred Heart Church since 2006 and conductor for the San Jose Chinese Catholic Community Choir since 2005. She also worked as an elementary music teacher for three years. Maria’s hobbies include hiking, reading, and playing classical guitar.
