Workshop

  1. What is the Workshop?

    A one hour-workshop includes general choir information, and an overview and demonstration of the audition process. Attending with your child is highly recommended.

  2. Do I need to signup for the workshop ahead of time?

    No, just come.

    Audition

  4. What's Level I? What's Level II and up?

    Level I is for 1st grade to 2nd grade as of September 2012 Levels II and up are 3rd grade and up as of September 2012.

  5. How often is the workshop/audition offered?

  7. When will I know the audition schedule?

    You will receive an email of the audition schedule in one week when the application and fee are received.

  8. For Level I, how long will the audition take?

    For Level I, It will take 45 minutes to complete the process, which includes check-in and audition a sing along circle time.

  9. For Level II and up, what's the audition process?

    For Level II and up, applicants are required to attend two 50-minute lessons for choral singing, drilling, orientation and evaluation. Every applicant will be placed to an appropriate class after these 2 lessons.

  11. Where can I obtain the music to prepare?

    You may obtain the music by emailing your request to admissions@crystalchoir.org as early as possible or when you attend the workshop.

  12. When will my child get the new member enrollment notice?

    You will receive an email notification within one week after the audition.

  13. How do I register for the Year-Round Choral Program audition?

    You may register using our Online Application and mail in the application fee or pay online with a credit card.  The fee is non-refundable. $20 for Level I and $50 for Level II and up.

  14. How do I register for the 10-week Program?

    You may register using our Online Application and mail in the application fee or pay online with a credit card.  The fee is non-refundable. $20 registration for the 10-week Program plus tuition.

  15. What is the mailing address for sending the application and fee?

    Programs

  16. What kind of music programs does the Crystal Choir offer?

    Crystal offers 2 different programs:

    1. Year-Round Choral Program

      Children who are in 1st grade and up are welcome to join the choir through an audition. They will be placed to an appropriate level based on the age, musical skills and vocal development. Choral Program

    2. 10-week Program (50-minute/lesson)

      We welcome children from age 3 to teen. The Program provides early childhood music development, voice training and other musicianship enrichment.

  17. What is the weekly rehearsal schedule for Year-Round Choral Program?

    Weekly rehearsal between 1.5 to 2 hours, it varies to different choral level.

  18. When will the Choir rehearsal be started after the auditions?

    The auditions will be held in April and May; the first choir rehearsal will be on 2nd week of September.

  19. When are the sessions for 10-week Program?

    A 50-minute weekly class for each 10-week session
     

  20. What's the tuition of Year-round Choral Program? And the 10-week program?

    Year-round Program (Level I – IV): $695 from August 2011 to July 2012
    Year-round Program (Level V - VII): $945 from August 2011 to July 2012
    10-week Program: $250/session

  21. Will the 10-week Program have an Annual Performance like Year-Round Choral Program?

    After each session, the class will have a class sharing with parents.
